About the Dead City Radio Strip Archive
Deadcityradio.org is the personal website of dmh. Dead City Radio (abbreviated DCR or dcr.atc) is a work of sequential art. An installment of Among The Chosen, DCR began as an exploration of sequential art in comic strip format. The first two chapters - Whitehouse and The Operative - were developed as comic strips that stacked seamlessly into comic pages. Beginning with the third chapter, production shifted to full pages and deployment moved entirely to the ATC website. Pages 5 through 34 (strips 17 through 109) of The Operative were posted in parallel to both websites.
This website is an archive of the original Dead City Radio comic strips - all 234 of them, including the Static and Squelch filler strips. While there is a great deal of redundancy between the strips of The Operative and the pages of that chapter, Whitehouse has been extensively reformatted, patched, tweaked, adjusted, rewritten and edited. Copyright issues have been replaced, obfuscated or removed entirely. From a mixed-media Remix Culture perspective, the book form of Whitehouse is a parallel universe, similar to the Whitehouse strips on a surface level but different in so many ways that it makes sense to retain this stage of the work for comparison purposes.
